Reason Wafawarova who was the director of the technical services in the Youth ministry and his main responsibilities were to recruit and instruct trainees for the National youth program is enrolled at the Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

The youth programme was launched some years ago to terrorise and pressure opposition supporters.

After the rigorous indoctrination the programme churns out graduates who are intolerant of divergent political ideas.

The Youth militia set up torture camps where opponents are murdered and mutilated and most of the gradutes end up being recruited into the ZANU PF hit squads and the Central Intelligence organisation.

Wafawarova who is also HIV positive, regularly writes letters to the editor in The Herald vilifying the Australian prime minister and the west.

His enrollment in the so-called imperialist countries is an interesting development as Mugabe and ZANU PF sympathizers have always taken every platform to pour vitriol on counties like Australia which have strongly condemned human rights abuses in Zimbabwe.

Efforts to get a comment from Wafarova were fruitless.

There have been growing calls recently by Zimbabweans that Australia must extend the sanctions to hit relatives of those directly benefiting from the crackdown in Zimbabwe.

On Easter Monday while addressing a demonstration outside the Zimbabwe embassy in Canberra, protest organizer Peter Murphy said it was time for sanctions to get even smarter and target the dozen or so children of top regime officials studying at Australian universities.

"We believe they are mainly in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth," he said.

Mr Murphy said the current sanctions did not specifically bar them studying in Australia.

"However it does say all financial transactions of these people are banned. So sending money here must be banned," he said.

"Children are getting money from their parents. They (the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) could be tougher. I believe they can do this."

Australia has imposed smart sanctions on Zimbabwe, including freezing Australian assets of top officials and barring their travel.

The Australian Prime minister Mr. John Howard is considering stepping up sanctions against Zimbabwe because of its brutal repression of opposition activists, he was also urged to aim sanctions at the children of Zimbabwe regime officials studying at Australian universities.

The protest on Monday was well participated with demonstrators chanting slogans and waving placards calling the Zimbabwe president a brutal dictator who had to go.

ZimDaily has also learnt that there are over 100 kids and relatives of ZANU PF officials studying in Australia. Some of the ZANU PF officials with kids studying in Australia include the Central bank governor Gideon Gono, ministers Emmerson Mnagangwa, Ignatius Chombo, Sylvester Nguni, Ray Kaukonde, Nathan Shamuyaria, Kembo Mohadi and the government propaganda paper The Herald editor Pikirayi Deketeke.

Mara why?
I feel pity for those taking orders from the old and dieing Mugabe. Cant they see from their sober minds that they are being used. How can you take orders and protect a person who doesn`t care with the situation in his country. I appeal to those that are close to Mugabe. How do you live with the reality of associating yourself with a cold blood killer. How can you sit down and plan with someone that sees an apposition as an enermy. I mean, even in a mrriage, husband and wife agree to differ. Is Zimbabwe now becoming, or has it become a colony of Mugabe regime? Do you think the whole world is biased that Mugabe`s policies are the ones drowning the country. Mugabe, bvuma wasakara.

MDC need to find a way forward. Key factors to challenge them would be: 1: How are they going to tackle the land distribution saga. What are they going to do with the farms that are unlawfully occupied. 2: Will they prosecute Mugabe. His (Mugabe) crimes can amount to 10g of data if I have to mention them. 3: Being the opposition themselves now, how are they going to accomodate the opposition once they become the ruling party. 4: Since the current Zim constitution is non democratic, it would be fair if they MDC propose an open constitution to be debated before the election.--------------------------- For all the hot issues and operation FAIR DEAL in SA email me on humbulanimuvenda@yahoo.com

As far as I am concerned, Reason writes his opinions in The Herald; others, including Jonathan Moyo, write to The Independent etc. The guy is free to write whatever he wants, from wherever he is. Any one who does not understand this simple fact is either mentally unstable or does not think, or both.

i happen to be nurse working at one of the hospitals in austarlia Reason was sick the other time and i nursed him had i known that munhu akaita sei i would have killed him instantly zibenzi saka hey zvakoma i had the man in my hands.His name is Reason Wafawarova and he works for UN part time when he is on holidays i wonder if they know his job in Zim other wise they would never have employed him and i think beacuse he travels a lot to any parts of austarlia with this UN thing he will getting information maiwe maCIO ari kwese manje we now know you .Imbwa yemunhu
